- 2006 – Ceramics – Introduction to Handbuilding. Used hand building techniques to create coil built, slab built and pinch vessels. Used high firing, raku and low fire techniques for surface decoration.
- 2006 – Ceramics – Directed study in Handbuilding. Created large handbuilt vessels and decorative plates. Created my own glazes and conducted tests of glazes on custom test tiles.
- 2005 – Ceramics – Advanced Throwing. Learned advanced production throwing techniques, joining multiple components to create large thrown objects, studied plate structure to resist warping in high fire environments.
- 2005 – Ceramics – Directed study in Slipcasting Researched and created custom high fire stoneware slip. Learned basic mold making for complete cast objects and sprig molds to create components for larger pieces.
- 2005 – Beginning Color Theory – Created color wheels. Studied human responses to colors alone and in combination. Learned relationships of colors to one another in color schemes.
- 2004 – Ceramics – Intermediate Throwing. Practiced repeatability in throwing, improving technique, working with larger amounts of clay and to understand repeatability of glazing.
- 1993 – Zone System Photography – Learned how to characterize film and normalize developing procedures to produce exact results in black and white photography.
